In 2012, I found myself a senior in college about to graduate in 4 months. And I felt extremely unhappy with the person staring back at me in the mirror. I decided to step on the scale and I saw I was 360 pounds at 21. I thought OMG, what the hell am I doing to myself?! I felt like I was one foot in the grave, how could I knowingly let myself get to such an unhealthy weight when my father passed due to a stroke, my mother struggles with diabetes both have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. To top it off, I was struggling with PTSD and depression and trying to get that under control with therapy. I had to take control of SOMETHING in my life, so it had to be my weight. January 2012, I did a crash diet which I regret now, but I lost about 20lbs that month. I also found out I was pregnant that same month. Picture on the left was me after I lost my 20lbs, I was 340! I was feeling soooo good! Fast forward to After I had my daughter, I tried to continue my weight loss journey but I had not changed my eating habits. I exercised early in the morning before Rose woke up, again after my husband came home, journaled my food intake and I GAINED WEIGHT. I felt like a FAILURE. so I quit, done, gave up... October 2013 my daughter turned 1, and I regained a chunk of the weight I lost while pregnant because I was back to 300lbs. November 2013, I was back at it again, changed my eating habits, found an exercise program that I loved and started losing weight again! This time the right way 😊. Come January 2014 I was pregnant AGAIN at 275. I continued eating decent while pregnant and after I had Riley I continued my Journey. Picture on the right is me now at 249, 4 weeks after having my 2nd daughter. I was 266 after birth and with watching what I was eating got down to 249 within those 4 weeks. Its never to late to start your journey and reach your goals. All you need are the tools to succeed and the determination to push past your self doubts. Its not easy but it is worth it!
