In 2013 we saw a need to develop a new Vision and Mission statement for the Sidney Police department. An ethical, character driven organization is defined by the picture of the future it seeks to create (vision), with a focus on continuous improvements; its enduring purpose (mission), and its positive set of belief’s (guiding principles). Vision, mission and guiding principles are the leadership tools used to establish the right culture and build the foundation for ethical, character driven behavior that merits the public’s trust. We wanted to enter a new era of law enforcement for the City of Sidney and saw a need to have a new Vision and Mission statement created. On May 13, 2014 I was proud release our new Vision and Mission statement with the help of the Sidney Disabled American Veterans who donated a plaque so that we could proudly hang it in our lobby. Thank you to all the members of the department that worked so hard on it and also to the members of the DAV for supporting us and donating a beautiful plaque so that we could display it for all to see.
