In Alaska Indigenous Peoples get papered everywhere you turn... BIA card, Tribal membership card, ANCSA corporation shareholder cards, plus the State demands an ID card from us, and then the Feds demand we have a social security card, and if youre elderly there are more cards, if we hunt and fish and gather as we have done since time immemorial that is another card from the State and from the ANCSA Corporations and maybe even the Tribal Council has a card for that. And we travel and navigate and the State and Feds want you to get cards, fill out papers for that too. And if you VOTE on the state matters, that is another card and if youre Indigenous and you move their LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS will kick out your vote and we have relatives all over, so we maybe called to another Village or to town to care for an elder/auntie/mom/cousin who is receiving medical attention and someone from the family may be helping... so if we dont keep in contact with them... and tell them where we move... thats another reason to kick our votes outta their matters...Ive been mailed several of those thank you for voting, we tossed your vote out cuz you moved and didnt tell us form letters...
