In April 2013, I nervously and excitedly attended my first class at Vertical Fitness Dallas and delved into my journey and exploration of the aerial arts, not fully knowing just how important it would all become. Not only did I find more confidence in myself and abilities, gained new strength, flexibility, and an array of beautiful new skills and talents; I discovered a passion that feels as though I was destined to be a part of it. Along with that, I have met an entire community of positive, inspiring people and made so many new friends! I have learned so much and accumulated so much knowledge, and yet I still feel as though I have just grazed the tip and am eager to learn as much as I can. Now, a year later, around the same time I started, I have my first show right around the corner with one of the wonderful individuals I met at VFD. I still feel like I know nothing, to me, it still feels like just the other day that I was learning to mount the lyra or struggling with my first climbs on silks. Its not until I look back and reflect that I realize how much stronger I have become, how much I really do know, and what a better person all around I have become since I began at VFD and the aerial arts. Its been an adventure and I would like to thank each and every one of you that I have met at VFD, all my instructors, all my peers, and all my new friends! Each one of you have helped contribute to the more amazing aerialist I have become, and even more, the more amazing person I have become. I want to lend a special thanks to all my instructors, and to special shout out to those of you I attend class with the most, Karen, Kimberly, Jennifer, Kabir, B, and Stephanie! Thank you so so so so much!!! Its been a wild ride, and I cant wait to see what the future holds! I wish I could tag and thank each and every one of you individually, but know that if I have seen your smiling face, then this post applies to you! I love you all!!
