In Colorado black people make up 4% of the population and when you look at the death row you find it is made up of 100% black people. Now for one, we need more black people living in Colorado! Next, I know for a fact that white people kill people here in Colorado and how come they are not on death row. Next, why do we have a death row, our prisons should be rehabilitating prisoners, not warehousing of people. When we put someone in prison it is the government’s responsibility to rehabilitate them, not some private corporation, and by government “We the People” I mean you and me the tax payers. Now it is time to address another problem, we have passed up the Jim-Crow-Laws of the past and have replaced those laws with James-Crow-Esquire-Law which are more sophisticated and more subtle than the laws of the past. For instance in Colorado we have the Castle Law, which says that if you break into a house the owner has the right to blast you with everything in his/her arsenal. In states with stand-your-ground-laws, it is becoming that you can go hunting for people of color and claim self-defense. I say this because if you are black and kill some one you don’t get to use self-defense, so there I said for all of you who do not understand why people are protesting and for those of you who do not think that racism exist anymore. Now here is another set of examples. White people were asked, if a black man is following you, what would you think, they responded that they might get mugged or beat up. When black people were ask, if a white man is following you, what you think, they replied they are afraid that they will get shot. Do you see the difference between the two examples, and do you still believe that is not racism? The most ignorant thing I have heard is when the Supreme Court said racism is no longer an issue. It is also the same court that said we do not need voting rights. There are over 1200 religions in this country, and there are people here from most nationalities. I for one am part Cherokee, white Scandinavian, and French. The people who belong here are American Indians, the rest of use have ancestry of immigrants. It would be nice to say that racism is no longer an issue, but that is not true is it? We need to shut down the laws in state that have Stand-Your-Ground laws, because all it is; open season on colored people. We do not need this king of ethnic cleansing that we fight so hard to stop in other countries.
