In December 2013,I went to Mumbai to explore the the concepts of music production and to understand the Music Industry of India. The exploration went deep and there were two basic lessons that I learnt. 1. A good song minus marketing is equal to a bad song. And a bad song plus marketing is equal to a good song. 2. If you want to rise in the industry, simply copy the riffs of Korean,Arabic,Chinese hit songs, write your own lyrics and get it mixed and mastered by a professional sound engineer to get the sound as close as possible to the original. And BAM.There you have a hit. Youll get offers from event organisers for gigs and then youll be famous. Plagiarism and Bollywood go hand in hand. So next time you have an Indian Band/artist playing near your place in concert,go out there and support it. Because it takes balls to make original compositions and perform it live as compared to copied music and lip-syncing.
