In Delhi, if you take a metro train from its starting point, - TopicsExpress

In Delhi, if you take a metro train from its starting point, chances are, you would get a seat. But if you board the train on subsequent stations, you have to be really lucky to get a seat. In fact, most of those passengers who board a train on second, third or subsequent stations, end up standing all the way to their deboarding point, which means standing for an hour or so. This is particularly true during the peak hours. I think we need to start a new PASSENGER CULTURE in Delhi metro or other metros for that matter. Suppose you take a metro from Kashmere Gate, to go to Gurgaon, and you get a seat. You have every right to be comfortably placed on the seat till you reach Huda City Centre. But you also have another option - You may choose to occupy the seat till Hauz Khas and then you can offer your seat to someone who has been standing for long, say from Chandni Chowk. You have already made yourself comfortable for half an hour, so it won’t be difficult for you to pass the rest of the journey standing. It won’t only reduce your fellow passenger’s suffering, it will make you too feel good as you just shared with someone what you had. Friends! GIVE, what you can! When you give, you’re more likely to get back; sometimes by the person you gave to, and sometimes by someone else.
