In February, it will mark my 10 years in service as Culture coordinator. I will always cherish witnessing childrens first snowshoe walks, young mans first moose harvest, young peoples first time on Rapids. But one of the hardest things was seeing the closing of gates of the Eastmain river in 2005. I literally saw 2 Rapids disappear within minutes. I didnt want to go but nookoom Florrie says to me, when we pass on who will share the story. It got me thinking. Within these 10 yrs Ive grown so much, listening to the wisdom of our elders, hearing the songs on the drum, paddling the waters, countless miles on my snowshoes, the cold winter nights, the rainy nights... I am forever grateful for this experience, I hope to be blessed many more years. Big thank you to all that have assist me over the years, thanks to the guidance of my grand parents and family. Big thanks to my wife and kids for letting me go for days and weeks.
