In Georgetown, a team of Party officials headed by Vice Chairperson of the PNCR and Director of the Party’s Human Services’ Department, Volda Lawrence, visited the Palms Geriatric Home for Senior Citizens, then served hot meals, beverages and hampers to the residents. The visitors also included Mabel Baveghems, Member of Parliament (MP), and representatives of the National Congress of Women (NCW), the women’s arm of the PNCR. At New Amsterdam, Leader of the PNCR, Brigadier David Granger, participated in the annual senior citizens luncheon, hosted by the Angoy’s Avenue PNCR group. Brigadier Granger along with a team of senior national and regional party officials served lunch to the more than 50 seniors. The PNCR leader was accompanied to New Amsterdam by Central Executive Member Joseph Harmon; Head of Organisation Department, Fitzroy Corlette and Mark Archer, Head of the Communications Department. Earlier this month a similar activity was held in Linden. A team of PNCR members travelled to Linden to celebrate with senior citizens of the mining town. The visiting team thanked the seniors for their sterling contribution to the party over the years and urged them to help impart some of the ideals of PNCR to the younger folks.Hampers and hot meals were distributed to more than 100 senior citizens in Linden. The event was organised by the Upper Demerara- Berbice PNCR Regional Co-ordinator Sandra Adams.
