In German Newspaper was a interresting article about Marlon Brando as a conga afficionado. He played himself and I found that video on YT. In that article was mentioned, that brando worked for years on a innovative tuning-system and he even patented it. Something, where you can tune the conga with only one screw. He died before finding a byer for that system, hence that might have been too expensive for production. I think you need several tuning-lugs for compensating differences in the skin anyway...
