In In an unprecedented demonstration of unity and urgency, 73 Haitian American organizations and leaders from across the political spectrum urged President Obama to support a Haitian Family Reunification Parole Program (HFRPP). This letter was spurred by the increasing loss of Haitian lives at sea and Obamas pledge to act administratively if necessary given congressional inaction on immigration reform. The HFRPP would allow those approved for visas to wait for them in the US instead of in Haiti.
