In India,its difficult to get a favorable judgement for a victim in a case of medical negligence as theres hardly any transparency & also the fact that for the layman its an unknown territory.Hence, I think its a landmark judgement that the Supreme Court gave in favor of Dr. Kunal Saha who fought the case of medical negligence against AMRI Kolkata,for 15 years after his wifes Arundhatis death.I hope this huge compensation of almost 6 crores which the hospital has been ordered to pay will serve as a deterrent in future.
