In Isaiah 28:1 we find that Samaria was very beautiful. It was surrounded by a valley that was around 8 miles in diameter. Not only was it surrounded by an 8 mile valley but the valley was surrounded by and cultivated in terraces, had grain planted, fig, and olive trees planted. It was a very beautiful country side to gaze upon. It was said that it was to look upon as though it had a crown or wreath of beautiful flowers. But the verse went on to say that Its glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of them that are overtaken with wine! Friends, it doesnt matter how beautiful your city (city- relationship with God) is, if you are full of strife, deceit, sin, etc... Your beauty (relationship with God) is as a fading flower. Friends, dont be that fading flower thats beautiful on the outside but is full of filth (sin) on the inside.
