In June 2013, the Quick Reaction Fund (QRF) awarded a total of £92,596 helping 281 individuals with swift financial assistance. This means that since its creation the QRF has now awarded a total of £4,671,667 and helped 3,821 individuals. Read about one individual below. Steven has suffered hearing loss, damage to his legs and severe PTSD as a result of an exploding mine whilst on active duties in Afghanistan. Steven’s therapist suggested that an outside area where he could have some quiet reflective time would be of great benefit to his long term recovery. As Steven lives in a terraced house, this was not available to him so we provided grant funding of £1000 so that he could convert his yard in to a garden area, providing a peaceful place for him to recover.
