In Leicester people of all faiths joined the people of Pakistan to support them, which included Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs and people of other faiths which show a great unity in the multi cultural City of Leicester. 16-12-2019 “DARK DAY” in Pakistan, when terrorists got into an army school based in the city of Peshawar in Pakistan and opened fire killing 149 people which included 133 children. Parents get their children ready to send them to school expecting them to return home. But this was a day of mourning for many parents, relatives and loved ones whose children will never come home. Children were murdered brutally at either point blank or by showering bullets by the killers. Children are not only the future of our Nation, but also a support for their families when they grow up. But for many it might not be the same again. People all over the world have condemned the attacks and prayed for the people of Pakistan. The Chief executive of the Leicester Pakistan Youth and Community Association Mustafa Malik had organised a vigil in Leicester City at the Clock tower on Friday the 18th of December. He said, “What has happened is an inhumane and barbaric act and we condemn this act of terrorism. Vic Sethi a Leicester based businessman said: “I was shocked to hear the news of the attack on children in the school. It is a un human act by these barbaric killers. They are not the followers of Islam as Islam teaches peace and unity. My heart and prayers go out to the Victims, Families and the Loved Ones. We pray to the Almighty to bless the family and the loved ones of the Victims with courage and strength in this sad and difficult time. We have all gathered here to show our support to the people of Pakistan and condemn such brutal actions of terrorism” Vic is a Sikh born in Delhi and migrated to the UK in 1991 from Kuwait has helped and sponsored a lot of Pakistani events such as Pakistan Flood appeals and also had 100% sponsored a video and a song by a Pakistani singer IFFY-K for the people of Pakistan in the hard time called “Allah Raham Karde”. Vic said: “We all belong to Gods great big family called the “Human Race” and those children killed were also our children.” MP for Leicester East Keith Vaz and MP Jon Ashworth also attended the event amongst other leaders. Saima Hussain, 35 of Nethall was amoung the crowd who is originally from Pakistan. She said it felt like a nightmare. She said she was here to come together and condemn the people responsible..
