In Lieu of the numerous COMPLAINTS and OUTRIGHT INDISCIPLINE of SOME MEMBERS of the GNAT, LEADERSHIP HAS DEEMED it NECESSARY to issue this document to serve as the reference point for the CONDUCT of MEMBERS during STRIKE PERIODS. Please members of the ASSOCIATION WHO go CONTRARY to the GUIDELINES laid out in this document shall HAVE THEMSELVES to blame in case of any MISHAP. GUIDELINES FOR THE CONDUCT OF ALL GNAT MEMBERS DURING STRIKE PERIODS: 1. ALL members of THE GNAT MUST STAY AWAY from the WORK PREMISES unless an EMERGENCY REQUIRES them to be present. 2. ALL members of GNAT CANNOT engage IN ANY TEACHING RELATED ACTIVITIES during A STRIKE PERIOD e.g. Marking, Remedial/Extra Classes, Sports/Co-Curricula Activities. 3. ONLY GNAT EXECUTIVES at any Level may grant an interview to the MEDIA about ISSUES bothering on THE STRIKE during such a TIME. 4. Any GNAT MEMBER who is in an ADMINISTRATIVE ROLE within the EDUCATION SERVICE is BARRED from threatening/intimidating other subordinates who are complying with the STRIKE ACTION. 5. No GNAT MEMBER should ENGAGE IN THE COLLECTION of MONIES during STRIKE PERIODS. 6. Members of GNAT are at ALL TIMES expected to CONTACT the LEADERSHIP at the various levels on ANY ISSUE during STRIKE PERIODS. 7. Teachers MUST CONSULT THE GNAT at ALL LEVELS for any OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION on the RESUMPTION of A STRIKE. 8. IT is ILLEGAL to engage PUPILS DURING STRIKE PERIODS. 9. Members who dont COMPLY with these DIRECTIVES shall be considered as being DISLOYAL to the ASSOCIATION and risks being blacklisted as such. 10. It IS AN OFFENCE for any GNAT MEMBER to assault either PHYSICALLY or VERBALLY any other person assigned by the ASSOCIATION to ensure the compliance of these GUIDELINES. Compiled by: GT. ACCRA REG.
