In Loving Memory of Lona Starnes September 7, 1932- August 14, 2013 Lona Starnes age 80 of Winchester, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2013 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center. On September 7, 1932 in Franklin County the late Alin and Yonia Branch Duke welcomed to the world their daughters Lona. She was a 1950 class graduate of Franklin County High School. She worked at the Winchester Hat factory for several years. In her later years she cared for the elderly. Ms. Starnes was a member of the Decherd First Baptist Church until her health began to fail. In her spare time you could stop by her home and find her talking on the phone to family and friends. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ms. Starnes is preceded in death by her parents, Alin and Yonia Branch Duke; son, Dewayne Brown and sister, Tula Parks. She is survived by her children, Teresa Gifford, Charles Billy (Jody) Starnes, Pam (Ricky) Arnold and Tony Moorehead all of Winchester; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 16, 2013 at 2pm from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Garner Cemetery.
