In Mallorca is found a Christmas tradition shared in many countries, in that the primary decoration for Christmas is not a tree but a nativity scene, here called a pessebre. In many cities, towns, and villages, while it contains all the traditional elements, its setting is often local as opposed to being in Bethlehem. As a result one will recognize buildings such as the city hall, local occupations and traditions. This year, Palma, while keeping the same elements created a new more spectacular one, which includes the city hall, palace, fortress, and folk activities. In the following three photos, the first is only a segment of the ntire which is about 4x3m in area. The subsequent photos for comparrison, show the actual city hall, and the fortress showing the entrance its watergate.
