In Matthew 25 Jesus teaches about the importance of serving those - TopicsExpress

In Matthew 25 Jesus teaches about the importance of serving those who are in greatest need: those who are without food, clothing, water, shelter, and those who are sick or in prison. They are the vulnerable that he refers in the parable He was telling when he said, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ But, does our obligation, as followers of Christ end there? Should we not also love and serve each and every other person in our midst? Because, while many of us may wear vain veneers of confidence and success, the more likely truth is that we also harbor hidden struggles and brokenness that we are afraid to show to those around us. By all means, lets work to address needs where they are greatest in places around the world like Haiti, Africa, and Iraq, but, I know that I, for one, should also recognize His presence and the opportunity to serve Him in each person that I come into contact with each day, from my wife and kids, to the students I teach, and the random strangers that I meet when Im out and about.
