In Memoriam: George Zervanos (1930 – October 5, 2006) was a Greek operatic tenor. He was born on the Greek Island of Kos. He studied voice in Athens, Milan and Munich. He won four scholarships from Greece, Italy, and Germany as well as Medals and First Prizes in international vocal competitions. Zervanos sang as a soloist in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, and England. He performed as Rodolfo in La bohème between 1967 and 1973, which he sang 38 times in Germany. In 1974, he was engaged by the Greek National Opera and taught in the major conservatories of Athens.
