In Memory of Herman Eugene Talmadge Jr. December 15, 1942 - November 24, 2014 Obituary Herman Eugene Talmadge, Jr. of Lovejoy, Georgia died November 24, 2014 at the age of 71. Gene was a graduate of Georgia Military Academy, The University of Georgia and Emory Law School. He was a real estate developer and retired partner of Twelve Oaks Realty. He was the eldest son of Senator Herman and Betty Talmadge. He is survived by his sons Herman Eugene Talmadge III, Tyler Welch Talmadge , daughter Margaret Elizabeth Talmadge, sons William Murphy Talmadge, Ramsay Morrison Talmadge , daughter Katherine Merit Talmadge and his faithful hound Rhett Quantrill Talmadge. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 28 at HM Patterson & Son Spring Hill Chapel at 2 p.m.. The family will receive guests one hour prior.
