In Memory of Mia Mia was the first dog to come from our membership of English Springer Rescue. She was from a PUPPY MILL this is why you dont buy from many stores and people you do not know. She had allergies (very bad), yeast growing on her skin, her ear drums almost had to be removed. She was to help our late German Shepherd Reba from mourning our first Springer. She had no fur on her when we first got her.. We nursed her, loved her dearly, and found a vet. to help with the problems. That was 3 1/2 years ago. She loved to swim, play and was a very sweet girl. She had to have steroids and antibiotics twice a day all her beautiful live. She had bad eye sight and went totally blind 6 weeks ago.She had Thanksgiving dinner then a few Christmas cookies the last 30 days. She got a small cut on her leg and we applied antibiotic cream on it 3x a day.Her adopted brother inured his ACL so we had him at the vet and thought Sweet Mia would be alright since we were treating her very slight wound. When we got home from the vet. we noticed her leg was swelling. The vet closed at 1 on Thursday. So hubby stayed up all night with her and we were on the way to the vet by Fri. 9 am 30 hours after the wound. Hubby drove 75 miles an hour to get there soon as the doors opened. Mia past away half way there. Thirty hours later our beloved Mia was gone.PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR DOGS STEROIDS UNLESS IT IS A MATER OF QUALITY OF LIFE.IT. AS IT WAS WITH MIA. DO NOT BUY FROM SOME WHERE THAT THE ANIMAL COULD HAVE COME FROM A PUPPY MILL. Our Mia in spite of so much wrong with her was happy,so loved by us and a wonderful gift God had given us.We loved so very much.
