In Memory of Moeller Coaching Legend Tom Kennedy Press Release from the Moeller Athletic Department: Its with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Moeller Hall of Fame Lacrosse Coach Tom Kennedy. Coach Kennedy was very instrumental with the start of the lacrosse program at Moeller and served as Head Coach twice since the program started in 1988. Tom Kennedy played lacrosse at Syracuse University under legendary Head Coaches Roy Simmons Sr and Roy Simmons Jr. While at Moeller, Coach Kennedy comprised a record of 139 wins and 57 losses. He guided Moeller to back to back state titles in 1992 and 1993 and a Midwest Scholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association Championship in 1992. He was named Ohio Coach of the Year in 1990 and 1992 and elected into the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2001. Coach Kennedy coached two nationally ranked teams in 1992 and 1993 and had 8 players named All American along with dozens of Ohio All-state players. Outside of his success at Archbishop Moeller, Tom Kennedy was a prominent fixture to the lacrosse community of Southern Ohio starting many club programs and mens teams. Tom has four sons (All Moeller Alumni) Tom Jr. 88, Matt 90, Jim 93 and Pat 97 all went on to play Division 1 college lacrosse. Our Moeller Family and Lacrosse Community lost a great man today. Coach Kennedy left a legacy at Moeller for all Lacrosse Coaches and players to follow. We will honor this legacy for years to come. Current Lacrosse Head Coach- Sean McGinnis
