In Moncton, Codiac RCMP have arrested a man in connection with the controversy over golfing in public parks. 30 year-old Michael Delahunt faces a charge of assault causing bodily harm. The charges result from an altercation between at Victoria Park. Fred Leidemer alleges that he approached a man concerned that one of his golf balls might hit someone. He says the man punched him in the face, causing him to lose a tooth and break his arm in the fall. Leidemer wants city council to change its bylaws to prevent people from golfing or doing anything else that might be considered dangerous in a public park. He plans to meet with council on Monday.
