In NYC, there is very little tolerance for street preachers. During the day (8/9/2014) the police came around the street I was on three or four times but they never stopped to ask me to cease and desist. They looked at me and kept it moving, seeing that I posed no imminent violent danger to the general public, or using my sound system to incite a riot (lol). Across the street is the Vanderbilt Ave/Lafayette Ave Flea Market. There is at least 300 people in there including various vendors. Hundreds of people frequent this flea market every week. The corner that I am on is the Catholic Church Queen of All Saints. The flea market is set up inside on the Athletic Field of Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, NY. Mind you that my speaker was loud enough to reach over the traffic and parked cars. And yes, they were disturbed. So disturbed that the vendors came outside the gate and across the street to ask me how long I was going to be there. One person came over after 45 minutes and said that it was affecting his business. On the next corner is Cadman Memorial Church. They decided to sell stuff on the days that the flea market is open to raise funds. I do not know if they evangelize but they were disturbed and asked me to turn my speaker. Its something when a church asks you to turn gospel preaching away. Anyway, the person that you will see is a lady that had her peace disturbed. Preaching disturbs the peace of sin. Its the middle of the day, and Ive been out here, along with the Prevailing Word witnessing team in other areas, preaching for just over an hour. This is what to expect when you stand to minister and people get upset. The goal is never to get people upset but to command them to repent and turn from sin before it is too late. To gloat over them being upset is not right because there is an eternal penalty that awaits them. There are a variety of ways to reach people. Preaching the gospel is the primary way. The seed was planted. All God does is send the watering and He gives the increase. In the end, the Lord will ask me, What did I tell you to do? And if I have been found faithful to do what He called me to do, then I will not suffer loss. The business of preaching the gospel is left up to the ones God called to preach. As Paul said, Woe to me if I preach not the gospel.
