In Newark, we cannot shy away from critical dialogue and conversations about standards in politics, policies or practices. Too often, our civic discourse devolves into a popularity contest where the most liked (i.e, our favorite sons) are exempt from being challenged, yet we sound the alarm ceremoniously in favor of railing against those who are deemed suspicious because they are not supported by the in crowd. The time for giving passes is over. Its time for our fruit to be inspected. In this Mayoral election, let ALL relevant topics be examined and weighed before the voters.
