In North West New South Wales, a farming community is up against rogue fracking company Santos. This is a modern day David vs Goliath struggle. Santos want to drill up to 850 coal seam gas wells in the Pilliga forest, putting the lifeblood of the community, the Great Artesian Basin, at risk. Over the weekend, the Pilliga community came together in preparation for when the drill rigs arrive in the Pilliga forest again. It’s so inspiring to see everyday Australians standing tall to protect nature and water. Not to mention the impacts of climate change. As today is International Day of Rural Women we would like to pass on our most sincere gratitude to the countless women involved in this struggle to protect their community against Santos.
