In October, 1940, this famous short documentary by the GPO film unit for the Ministry of Information was released, covering 18 hours of the Blitz on London and Londoners. A morale boosting film, it was then distributed n America as propaganda to help convince the US to enter the war. The narrator, American Quentin Reynolds, was a London correspondent for CBS. He may also have been the journalist who broadcast about the Stepney invasion of the Savoy Hotel shelter. This incredible film by Humphrey Jennings and Harry Watt was nominated for an Academy Award in 1941.
