In October 1986 I made a life altering decision to leave the comforts of home & enlist in the WORLDS GREATEST NAVY. (The decision wasnt really all mine, there was some coercing.) At just 18yo, I was alone, afraid & had no idea of what to expect. Looking back, now nearly 30 years later, I can honestly admit that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. The friendships made, the travels, the lessons learned, & friends lost have taught me many things, but most importantly, it taught me to appreciate life, & the blessings that come with it. Sacrifices made by me to deploy with my units were small sacrifices compared to those made by my family while I was gone. I deployed & had a job to do, which meant my wife Mika Ronolo had to step up & fill a void & add to her list of responsibilities. So while I am forever grateful for all my brothers & sisters who have served, are still serving, & will serve in the future, I would also like to extend a huge thank you for all you do for our family, your service & selflessness are forever appreciated. Thank you dearly, to my wonderful wife Mika, on this beautiful veterans day. I love you, & thank you very much. ✌
