In Rememberance On this day 12 years ago I remember sitting feeding Laney who was just 2 weeks old. I sat down on the couch and turned the tv on. I rarely watch the news. I happened to flip by FOX news and stopped. They were replaying footage from an airplane that had-at the time-veered off course and crashed into one of the towers. I was shocked. I was praying they could get this under control quickly! The news crew then showed it burning and they were discussing what might have happened. As they talked, u could see another plane on the horizon head straight for the towers hitting the 2nd one. My mouth fell open. I had this terrible sensation go up my back. I immediately called my mother in law because I knew she was showing her students a news presentation that was to be telivised that morning. Thank goodness they had not turned on the tvs! Watching this tragedy unfold was overwhelming! Seeing the rescue crews work desperately to get everyone out. I still remember gasping for air when the first tower fell!! Within minutes watching the next one come down. Broke my heart! Later hearinf the news of the plane crashing that was on direct path to the white house and the one hitting the pentagon!! Our country was under fire!! As the days passed, seeing the courage of the men and women and children was truly remarkable. To work diligently on eveb the smallest of tasks. I still feel for the families that lost loved ones. It is in my mind always. For those still here continuing the work to make us safe and keep is going no matter the job, THANK YOU!!! We learn and grow together. I will always remember 9/11.
