In SPotlight: Stories of Humanitarian Volunteers Mr. Ronnie Anuddin HOM’s Mental Health Specialist Tausog It’s understandable why such a stubborn, free-spirited, hyper, outspoken, sensitive, fragile and yet talented, charismatic and big hearted lad would easily find his way to where he belongs - serving the larger community with passion. Ronnie or “Kuya Ron” has won the heart of most of his colleagues and comrades for his being extra sweet and thoughtful. He would tell you stories of various sorts and would always find a way to cheer you. As a humanitarian volunteer, he is known for being a huge symphatizer of the people he serves. He may be breaking rules and policies, including disobeying and not following my instructions (lol!) only to favour what he thinks is good for the people that he serves. We at HOM recognises and appreciates the hard works and contributions that Ron has put forth in his role as Mental Health Specialist. His works helped the pregnant and lactating women as well as children survivors of Yolanda (Haiyan) in Samar and in Cebu overcome the stress and trauma of their horrible experiences. As a result, many of his clients have regained self-confidence and are standing back to their own feet to face life with renewed hope. Advancing HOM’s advocacies, he helped a lot in integrating Mental Health in the healthcare system of Eastern Samar.
