With urban development and population growth, one after another, the Indian Sikhs, Jewish, Japanese and Chinese from the Hockchia, Henghwa, Hakka and Hainanese dialect groups came and settled here. This place holds the memories of this diverse group of people. Our speaker from the National Heritage Board will be sharing with us his journey of tracing their cultural footprints. SPEAKER’S BIOGRAPHY Mr Ng Ching Huei is the Manager (Heritage Research) at Singapore National Heritage Board and his research interest in Singapore’s cultural landscape and historical development of local Chinese community. He actively promotes a deeper understanding of history to the general public by conducting public lectures, teaching and training Museum Volunteers.
