In Short: 1400 lbs lifted @ Northwest YMCAs Spring 2014 Lift Competition. I am very satisfied. Videos can be found below, in the comments section. Full Detail: Thank you again for the support. Today was a huge success. In my first lifting competition, I moved a combined total of 1400 lbs. This is just 25 lbs shy of the goal I made for myself. However, I am very pleased. Squat went extremely well. I nailed 405, 455 and ultimately 475, when I only originally intended to hit 465. Yet, I quickly learned, that in a competition like this, you MUST pace yourself, as I was becoming exhausted quickly. Next up was the bench press. I nailed 315, but faltered on the 2nd attempt which was 325 (was about an inch short of lockout). However, I was able to rebound and nailed 325 on my 3rd attempt. (WARNING: If you watch the video, there is explicit language utilized towards the end of the rep...my apologies). Lastly was the deadlift. I nailed a 585 opener. However, I found myself in a tough predicament as I missed on my 600 lbs, 2nd deadlift attempt. Funny thing was, it was NOT my strength that broke, but the belt, which threw me way outta focus. Nevertheless, I managed to regain my composure and mustered the 600 lbs to a successful lockout on my 3rd attempt. 475+325+600 = 1400! Once again Id love to thank all of you who have supported me. There are countless individuals out there, and Ill thank you all individually. First and foremost, thanks go to The Lord, who gives me strength in everything I do. Special shout outs to Tyler McLachlan for the fantastic and unexpected support today, Michael Nauman for being my teammate along the way, and to my mom, Sally Hans, and father, Keith Wallace, for always having my back. Time to prep now for the Autumn contest! #LEGO #BeastMode
