A 22-year-old woman in Tanzania gave birth to a healthy baby girl who developed outside the womb. The new mom’s rare abdominal pregnancy went undetected until she developed stomach pains. A pregnant woman in Tanzania complaining of a stomach ache turned out to have a baby growing outside her uterus. The first ultrasound of the 22-year-old, who was 32 weeks pregnant, came back normal, doctors said. However, after a second scan, the woman was found to have an intact uterus with a viable fetus floating in the abdominal cavity without its amniotic sac Doctors delivered a healthy baby girl who weighed 3 pounds and 12 ounces.
