IMAM_Banner_MQ 1-888-SISTANI [email protected] Solar Eclipse & al-Ayaat Prayer To All Respected Believers in North America, as-Salamu Alaykum We would like to bring to your attention that there will be a total solar eclipse tomorrow, November 3rd, 2013 on the East Coast. al-Ayaat prayer is an obligation, therefore one should pray it within the time of the eclipses occurrence. Please use the details below to follow the steps for prayer times and instructions. Partial solar eclipse will be visible on the East Coast in North America. Click here to see if your city is included. One should offer the prayer of al-Ayaat, and its method is as follows: 1. Make the Niyyah (intention) of offering the prayers as Salat-ul-Ayaat. 2. One should say Takbir (Allahu Akbar) 3. Recite Surat-ul-Fatiha and any other Surah* 4. Then perform the Ruku. 5. Then stand and recite Surat-ul-Fatiha and any other Surah and then perform another Ruku. 6. One should repeat this action five times, and, when he stands after the fifth Ruku, he should perform two Sajdah, and then stand up to perform the second Rakah in the same manner as he has done in the first. 7. Then he should recite Tashahhud and Salam. *Please note that a person is allowed to say Takbir and recite Surat-ul-Fatiha and then divide the verses of another Surah into five parts, and recite one verse or more or less, and thereafter perform the Ruku. He should then stand up and recite another part of the Surah (without reciting Surat-ul-Fatiha) and then perform another Ruku.
