In West Australia we forget how amazing democracy is. Here I am in Kathmandu between newely elected Bhutanese MPs Nima and Lekay Dorji. Nima, now 35, was a student at Curtin Uni when Bhutan had its first election. He recites verbatim a powerful speech Alan Carpenter made in WA Parliament when Nima and other students visited the House. Pretty speccy venue for dinner tonight; 18yold Bhutanese youth advocate demanded we do a crazy faces pic. Alas, more & more folks keep telling me I look like George W. Bush.
