In X-Men: Days of Future Past, the X-Men dispatch Wolverine/Logan (Hugh Jackman) to 1973 to try to prevent the assassination of Dr. Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage), the inventor of robots, by Raven/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence). Returning to the past is designed to prevent the doom of both mutants and fifty years later, humans. Wolverine goes to the Young Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) to ask him for help even though Xavier is addicted to painkillers. The young Magneto known as Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) is locked one hundred stories below the Pentagon supposedly for killing John F. Kennedy. The young Professor X (Patrick Stewart) is martyred peacenik soldier Ron Kovic (McAvoy). Magneto is the smug Henry Kissinger of the 1970s. The quality of the movie is reflected in its extraordinary costumes, music, CG I, cinematography, and direction by Bryan Singer, The acting in the movie is excellent as partially reflected by academy award winners: best actress Halle Berry (Storm), best actress Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and best supporting actress Anna Paquin (Rogue).
