In a bid to promote Kazakhstan as a tourist destination in the Azerbaijan market, Air Astana, the national carrier of Kazakhstan, in association with the Ritz Carlton Almaty organised a familiarisation trip to Almaty in October for various Azerbaijani tourism companies in an effort to simulate tourism growth. According to Galymzhan Seilbayev Air Astana’s Country Manager in Azerbaijan, the main aim of the familiarisation trip was to create awareness about the beauty of Almaty and to promote it as leisure as well as a stopover destination for travellers from Azerbaijan.
