In a country that has been impoverished and is unmistakably broke the President Mahama and his men and women jet around the world in a private jet(hired or not we are yet to be told). The symbolism is jarring enough. H Kwasi Prempeh with his usual sharp legal faculties has spotted the conflict of interest(the presidents brother Ibrahim owns the jet through his company Engineers and Planners). I focus on the symbolisms and ethics here. Lee Kuan Yew when he was building Singapore with his men and women flew around the world on commercial aircrafts. The African heads of state(simpletons as always) he met around the world arrived in their own aircrafts with all the luxuries. We know who made the difference in their countries. In a broke China Deng Xiaoping as leader of China was on per diem of $10.00 for a historical trip to the United Nations Hq in New York; he bought the cheapest dolls he could afford(priced in cents) for his grand daughters. When my parents were broke we all ate gari foto(and do not forget the president loves the household analogy; this is one for him). What would we have thought of them if they ate cavier washed down with the choicest sparkling water while we the children made do with grade 4 gari(the one that sent electric currents through your jaws and palates) :(!!!!! #notesofapatriot
