In a few days, as the new year arrives, the minimum wage will rise in 20 states and the District of Columbia, and later in 2015 Delaware and Minnesota will join this group. In total, 29 states will have wage floors above the federal minimum which speaks to the broad consensus across the country that $7.25 per hour and its buying power is too low in todays economy. Lets resolve to give America a raise in 2015.
