In a historic vote, #Santa Clara County Supervisors officially passed the most comprehensive #living #wage ordinance in the nation yesterday. The new law will go into effect in July 2015 and includes requiring County contractors to provide: A living wage of $19.06, with health and retirement credits and paid sick leave; Fair workweeks, with access to more hours for part-timers plus predictable and flexible schedules; Equal opportunity for local, disadvantaged and formerly incarcerated workers to get good jobs; and A voice on the job without fear of retaliation. ow.ly/G5t26
