In a week, I have a truly challenging decision coming up. The college playoff game - my beloved Ducks playing the loathsome Buckeyes of Ohio State (which, happens to be my assistant minister, Rev. Mary Mitchells alma mater, Im told) - is happening on Monday, Jan 12th at 5:30. But, I am scheduled to first, lead the visioning core for CSL at 5:30, followed immediately by teaching Practitioner class. Yes, yes, I can DVR it - but I will be unable to look at Facebook for the rest of the night to avoid spoilers. A true dilemma! Do I watch the game in real time, asking Rev. Sue MillerBorn to teach the class for me? Or, do I sacrifice myself and do the right thing and watch the game later. They never told us about these kinds of sacrifices in ministerial school!
