In a world where capitalism drives neoliberal austerity, and where we constantly read about obscene corporate profits and excessive executive pay that generates extreme pay ratios, it is useful to put that into immediate and understandable context. This is a bit simplistic--simply dividing total earnings by total employment. But what remains without dispute is that such a cooperative would be in a position to make better decisions on the lives of its workers, and on behalf of both its workers and the world in which they inhabit! Capitalism is not, as adherents would like us to believe, the only and natural order of things. Marx points out that each epoch is characterized by a dominant ideology which is presented by the ruling elites who benefit from those relations of production as inevitable and unchanging. Other ways of organizing society is possible--just look at what happened to the Feudal aristocracy! forbes/sites/cameronkeng/2014/12/18/if-apple-was-a-worker-cooperative-each-employee-would-earn-at-least-403k/4/
