In an effort to boost Ukraines very bad financial situation the new government will implement a travel tax from May 1st. The idea is to support domestic tourism instead of spending abroad. Ukrainian citizens leaving the country will have to pay $200 at the border and when coming back to Ukraine the number of days away will be calculated and an additional $50 per day outside Ukraine will be charged. The government hope that this measure will produce substantial funds as well as growth for the remaining resorts by the Sea of Azov and Black Sea.
