In an effort to support the national shutdown all national parks and monuments have been closed. This becomes problematic with such items as statues and monuments, that is why barricades have been put up--to prohibit old people from seeing them. However, this has yet to resolve the problem with such things as the Washington monument. In order to prove the point with the national shutdown, the Washington Monument should be covered in a giant prophylactic to prohibit anyone from being able to see it.
