In an interesting course Im attending, the professor explained about the scope of leaders using their moral power to influence different sort of issues. He quoted the example of Lal Bahudar Sastri. When India didnt have enough stocks of food grains to feed its population, Lal Bahudar Sastry, then Prime minister of India came in Radio and requested the entire nation not to eat cereals on Monday evening. The country followed his suggestion and this is a great example for many reasons especially making it work in a diverse country like India. Yesterday, when I was listening to present Prime minister of India, for a moment I thought he is doing the same. Now the economic growth brought many variables and thus requirement of handling many levers at the same time. He is trying to do this in his own style. And may be this is one major thing he is trying to do this in last 100 days. May be, he is a soft dictator and may be this phenomena can be negated by quoting concept of Moral Hazard. But the new concepts may emerge and youth needs to be attracted and a majority of youth needs role models to identify themselves with and follow. Whats wrong if the person is Prime minister of this country? Rest, as understood by now, policies can be debatable but this man cant be hated any more. #ModiInAmerica
