In an interview with a Russian tank pilot, as the Russian army was forced out of Georgia, by US troops 4 years ago, he replied frankly to the Ukrainian reporter, You (Ukraine) are next. That report was on Ukrainian TV then, and Ill never forget. The question was when will the planned attack happen. Immediately afterward, Russia began printing passports for Ukrainian citizens, residing in Crimea, for those that were interested, that is. During a concert tour of Crimea, a year later, as we hiked up to the cave-fortress near Bakhchesarai, I caught the scent that Crimea would be the site of future world conflict. It goes to show that the Crisis was planned out at least 4 years ago, by the Russian military, to keep control of the post Soviet space. Around that same time, there was a televised interview with Putin, on Ukrainian TV relating to the terms of the Black Sea Fleet contract. Putin made the remark to Ukraine, tell your wives to get the borscht ready for us.
