In any scientific research it is normal for different experts to sometimes have different opinions. The more ground-breaking the research, the more determined each side is to defend their interpretation. In 2003, archaeologists in Indonesia started finding the remains of beings that looked like a new species of pygmy humans. The press dubbed them “hobbits” in reference to the literary and film characters, and the scientists named them homo floresiensis. To this day there is ongoing debate about whether they are a true new species, or a bizarre colony of small-headed (microcephalic) humans with dwarfism. Because it has not been possible to extract useful DNA due to natural degradation, there has been no way to prove the case one way on the other. Although the majority of experts do believe it to be a new species, there are still those adamant that they are deformed humans. You can see the parallels to the Starchild Skull, but the big difference is that we DO have viable DNA, and so we CAN get the final answer. All that is needed is the support to complete the genetic testing, and then we can prove, once and for all, whether this being is a new species.
