In case some of you haven`t heard the Kansas Dept. of Wildlife & KDHE decided that the roads by our Cherokee county STRIP PITS are a danger to drivers so they have started filling in our pits!!! Needless to say it has caused a huge uproar by all sportsmen & women & kids that love to fish & hunt in the area. They have dozed in several pits already, killing all the fish, trees & other aquatic creatures & probably other animals also. There is going to be a meeting at the Courthouse this coming Mon. June 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the courtroom on the 2nd floor. I hope any or all of you can make it so they hear the people loud & clear that county residents or former residents do not want this to happen. If you can`t make it call your State officials & let them know how you feel. This is a terrible tragedy occurring in our county. It is affecting the tourism that helps the county. Please feel free to SHARE with your friends & family so these agencies know how we all stand on this.
