In case the past decade of my life hasnt made it clear, Ill go ahead and say this explicitly: I reject our cultures definition for success. As a family, we have made some very specific decisions that brought us to the place we are right now, and while a different path might have brought us more money, our choices have given us more time. And when I spend each morning with Nate, when I spend an evening each week at my moms, when I spend 10 minutes in the middle of each school day with Neil, when I spend Saturday mornings eating pancakes with Dave, when I spend Sunday afternoons at my aunt and uncles, when I spend frequent summer days with my in-laws, when I eat dinner with my family EVERY NIGHT, there isnt a doubt in my mind that no income exists that could ever exceed the value of this time together.
